Scottish Orange Home Fund
Established in 1980 to provide holiday breaks for our senior members, the Scottish Orange Home Fund is the only registered Orange Charity in Scotland. Since its formation the SOHF has grown and is now providing a well earned holiday for our senior members and from 2008 will cater for members and their family who are recovering from illness or require a break away from everyday stress.
We now have two fully equipped on site facilities Centenary Lodge and Olympia Lodge within Seton Sands Holiday Village near the fishing village of Port Seton on the East Coast not far from the City of Edinburgh.
Seton Sands Holiday Village boasts beautifully kept grounds and is only a few minutes walk from the beach and a short walk or bus journey from the village of Port Seton itself. The onsite leisure facilities and entertainment complex are available to our members throughout their stay at Seton Sands.
Centenary Lodge will be exclusively for our senior members. The Lodge has full central heating and comprises of three twin bedded rooms, a comfortable lounge area with colour television, a well equipped kitchen with separate dining area and two toilets with a shower room.
Olympia Lodge will be available for members and their families that require a break. The facility has full central heating and comprises a double room with en suite toilet facilities and a further twin bedded room, a comfortable lounge area with colour television, a well stocked kitchen with separate dining area and a bathroom with a shower.
Throughout the holiday season (April to October) the facility provides a well earned and much appreciated holiday for around 120 of our senior members. With the opening of our new facility in 2008 this number will more than double. As a charity, the Scottish Orange Home Fund finds great difficulty in competing with so many National charities. Our principle source of funding is from the lodges and members and we extend our sincere appreciation to everyone that has donated in the past and will continue to donate in the future. However, we need your support in encouraging others to donate or fund raise for the only Orange Charity in Scotland –The Scottish Orange Home Fund.
